In 2026, StoryStudio is thrilled to present: StoryBoard Conference & Festival. This program combines our signature program StoryBoard (a weeklong application-based workshop intensive) with our signature event Writers Festival (a weekend festival of craft classes, panels, and social events).

For the seventh year in a row, the StoryBoard Conference is pleased to bring a host of talented authors to the Studio (five in person, and two online) for a week of workshopping, community building with your cohort and instructor, and a special discussion with all five in-person authors.

For those that are accepted into our in-person week of the conference, your tuition will include access to the weekend StoryBoard Festival. 

This week-long program will run in-person from August 9 – 14, led by Mat Johnson, Peter Ho Davies, Lidia Yuknavitch, Michelle Tea, and Carl Phillips; followed by an online week August 16 – 21 led by Denne Michele Norris and Amitava Kumar.
